Sunday Funday

Sunday it got cold again so we decided to take Benjamin to the science center for the first time. The two things I remember as a kid was the ramp over the highway and the big dinosaur, they are both still there if you were wondering. Benjamin didn't want to leave the dinosaur, he kept saying "hi" and "bye-bye" to it.

Afterwards we went to Dogtown for lunch at this little place called Nora's, it was so good and look what we saw...our third cake of the weekend

Date Night

Saturday night my boys took me out for a date night. We went to Fortel's for pizza and then Ted Drewes for some ice cream.

BBQ Season

It was so nice yesterday that David and I decided to to our first BBQ this year. David grilled some strip steaks, I made homemade mash potatoes, corn and salad. Benjamin went down for a nap so late that we actually got to eat by ourselves which made it feel like a date night. It was so good...

Yes, David eat everything on that plate, plus some!

Little Fishy

Since this summer we are going to a beach house I only thought it would be appropriate to have Benjamin take swim lessons. We tried the YMCA last year and he didn't learn much except to splash in the bathtub. Yesterday was our first class since the first one got cancelled due to weather. The only weekend time they had available was on Sundays at 2:30pm which clearly was right in the middle of his nap time. Luckily with day light savings yesterday he did great. He loved it and when we got out he kept saying "more...mama...more". We learned so much just in the first class, which will be repetitive over the next couple months. The one thing that I really like was they teach him how to get out of the pool from the side: elbow, elbow, tummy, knee, knee. I actually caught Benjamin doing it later that night trying to climb on something. He sure is going to be a little fishy by the end of this summer.

Going down the slide (well under water)

Colors

Benjamin officially knows his colors. He use to call everything blue, literally everything, but now he says the correct colors. He sometimes gets confused on white and red (those are the hardest for him to pronounce) that sometimes he calls them blue but we are working hard on it. His favorite colors to say are purple and orange, he is always pointing those colors out. Next is onto numbers, he only knows 2 and 8. Weird, I know!

A Beast

On Saturday Ali shaved her head to support child cancer and to be a role model to her daughter at St. Baldrick's. She is so inspiring to be better in life and I can't wait to at least donate my hair at the end of this year (waiting for it to get really long). She has been wanting to do it for awhile now and finally did...she has such a pretty hear! So proud of her!

Train Table

David's cousin gave us her Thomas the Train train table since her boys out grew it. It doesn't really fit in our house, but we thought we give it a try and we are never getting rid of it, Benjamin loves it. It came with a couple of bumps and bruises, but nothing David can't fix (he actually almost broke the whole table while trying to fix it). It came with multiple tracks and trains, so much to build! Benjamin gets up from his naps and ask for choo choo, he is hooked!!
