Time for their Check-Up

Benjamin and Charlotte both had their yearly check-ups today.

Benjamin got a hearing test, vision test, developmental test and two shots. He hated every minute of it. It probably didn’t help that I told him that we were going there for Charlotte and was really mad at me when he discovered we were also there for him. His behavior was so poorly that they had to call in reinforcement to give him his shots.  He is 47 inches tall (he didn’t want to stand all the way up so that was the best they got) which puts him in the 99%. He weighs 42lbs which puts him in the 60% for weight.

Charlotte was awesome! She only got one shot and didn’t even cry because she was more distracted about getting a Band-Aid and showing off her boo-boo. She is 37.5 inches tall which puts her greater the 99% (according to the chart). She weighs 27.8lbs which puts her in the 60% for weight.

Boston/Maine Vacation

This past week David had a follow-up training conference in Boston so Benjamin and I tagged along at the end of the trip to travel to Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The best part of this trip was that we got to fly on Benjamin’s birthday. The whole plane sang happy birthday to him and the crew delivered a cake and a crown with the resources they had. He even meet a new friend and kept calling her his grandma friend. They entertained each other most of the flight. He was one happy little boy.

On Thursday Benjamin and I took the T to the Aquarium and then took a boat ride to George’s Island and back. It was such a fun bonding day with just Benjamin and myself.

On Friday, we headed to Portland, Maine to check out some lighthouse. I never knew much about them before this trip and now have a little fascination with them. We got to see the oldest light house in Maine while in Portland. We even stopped at this little water side placed called Lobster Shack and had a really good lobster roll. After exploring Portland we then headed off to Boothbay Harbor to where we were going to be staying for a few nights.

Saturday we took a private tour around Burnt Island Lighthouse and the harbor then had lunch in town at Lobster Dock. I actually ate a boiled lobster and really liked it! The rest of the trip we enjoyed everything the resort had to over which was a lot. They had two pools which one was heated, a dock that had fishing, kayak, paddleboards and a boat taxi that took you to town and back. They had a big field and any sport equipment that you could think of, cornhole was the boys favorite game. They had a nice big playground, three hiking trails, outdoor chess/checkers boards and a nightly s’more station.

We were very pleased with the resort and Maine and would love to visit it again and stay a couple nights longer to explore more of Maine.

Back to the Elephants!

Charlotte started LECE today and is in the Elephant Room just like her big brother was. This morning Benjamin was giving her a pep talk and it was the cutest thing. He told her that if anyone hits her to tell him and he will put them in time-out. He also told her that he would give her a hug when he sees her on the playground. I really hope he does because she was not handling it well when we dropped her off. I know that it took Benjamin almost 8 months to finally accept that was his new routine so lets hope it doesn't take that long for her. Good luck Charlotte and can't wait to come get you and hear all about your day.

Charlotte is 2!

I can't believe my baby girl turned two yesterday. She is growing up way to fast.

David took the day off to spend it with her since he believes that she shouldn't go to school on her big day. He took her to Grant's Farm and then I had lunch with them. When I got home from work we celebrated by having a pizza party on the patio followed up with presents, cookie cake and a walk with the whole family.

David taught her how to tell you how old she is and she is really proud of it!

Spider-Man even stopped in to wish her a happy birthday!

Birthday Party

We had yet another successful, joint birthday party. It was very low key and laid back. I really wonder how long the kids will let me get away with throwing them a birthday party together.
Made these all by myself!

Such a diva!

Memorial Day

On Memorial Day we took Maw-Maw to see Paw-Paw at Jefferson Barracks. Maw-Maw is such a strong women so to see her so vulnerable is very emotional but really glad that we go to experience it. We all love you so much Maw-Maw and miss Paw-Paw every day.
Favorite photo. It is Benjamin's shadow but looks like Paw-Paw is looking over her!

PAW Patrol

This past weekend we took the kids to see Paw Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue. they were glued and didn't move during the whole performance. When we got home Benjamin ran to his neighborhood friends and was telling them all about it. It really was a great performance!
