Goodbye Hair

I did it! I can't believe that I followed through with it. This was a big step for me as most people say it is just hair, but it was just my hair. I have hidden behind my hair for years and of course it satisfies my obsession of hair twirling, but I just had to do it. I teared up a little bit, but knowing that it would grow back over time I snapped out of it. I know that it is going to such a good cause so I may just do again down the road.

His Throne

Benjamin got a new mini chair for his birthday from his Aunt Abbie and can't get enough of it. He moves it all over the place to sit in it no matter what we are doing. His favorite time in it is when he has snacks, he is just so funny!

4th of July

What a great family 4th of July weekend we had. It started off with a little parade on Thursday at Benjamin's school. They made shirts, hats and shakers and I was so lucky that I had errands to do for my boss that I was in that area so I got to check it out. It was so cute and Benjamin looks like he really enjoyed it. Then that night we went to see the fireworks at Twin Oaks and had ice-cream (from Schnucks because it was too crowed to make it to Fritz's). Then on the 4th we went to the Blueberry Festival in the morning and then Kirkwood fireworks that evening and of course had more ice-cream. Then on Sunday we went to my parents for a BBQ with some s'mores for dessert.

Blueberry Festival

On the 4th of July David and I took Benjamin to the Blueberry Festival at the Daily Bread off Manchester. We went there last year and had a blast and thought that we would try it again. It was even better this year as Benjamin could do things on his own. We got to make pin peels, cool sunglasses, hats and our very own cookie. We were so lucky that the fire trucks stopped by for 15 minutes and got to walk through. I believe that we might make this a new tradition for us.

Potty Trained?

Benjamin has been fully potty trained for a couple weeks now ONLY if we are at home and he has no pants on. The second that we put underwear on him he has accidents (he will go sit on the potty with his underwear on) and he has never gone on the toilet. Sometimes he will go to the toilet and lift it up like he needs to go and then run away saying "no no no, nnnooooo" afterwards he will just use his potty. I know that he gets it but sometimes he is just like me and needs to know certain that he can do it. So, my question here is do we now teach him to stand so he will maybe start using the toilet or should we get him potty trained with clothes on? Never thought that I would have to ponder this...

Bowling

We signed Benjamin up for Kids Bowl Free through Crestwood Bowl and they allow you to add a family pack with four more people so why not? So we took Benjamin for the first time last Friday with the Herbst family and he had a blast. He loved everything about it! If it is raining this summer you know where we will be!

so proud he could carry the ball all on his own

watching for a strike

even tried kicking it

School

Benjamin started his first day of school on June 10th and he did as anyone would expect their child to do on their first day of school after being in at home daycare with family...HORRIBLE!!! The first day was horrible for me as I think I cried most of the day and was logged out at 4:58pm to go get him. The second day was worse since he knew what was happening. I tried not to cry in front of him but I broke down and almost couldn't leave him there. Three weeks later, much better! He still hates being dropped off (few fake tears) and he hates when we pick him up because he doesn't want to leave, at least he is having fun!

Here are some pictures from our first day of school. His favorite part is washing his hands, not only does he wash them and dry them but he also wipes out the sink every time.
